I love white rice and brown rice, even red rice and black rice and mahogany rice. This light brown rice is another very delicious alternative. Although I understand that light brown rice is not considered a "whole grain" by the nutritionists because half of the bran is removed during the milling process, it has the benefit of more fiber than white rice. Also, fussy kids think they are eating regular white rice, so it's another way to sneak in a little more nutrition.

Like Stacy, I lament not being able to purchase just one canister in my local grocery store to avoid staleness/rancidity that can happen with larger online quantities.

And @Stacy -- Up until about 4 or 5 years ago, I was able to regularly find single units of Texmati Light Brown in my local Super Fresh [now taken over by Pathmark] in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. Then suddenly it disappeared from there and apparently from every other local store I've checked with. I keep looking because I do visit various markets, but have not been successful.

Love the consistent texture and taste.

Wish I could purchase this particular product at a near-by food mart such as shop-rite, pathmark or acme in the philadelphica area.
